# Borrowing Periods

Currently, the mefi dapp offers two borrowing periods for users:

* 12 and 24-hour period for newer meme coins
* 2 and 4-day periods for legacy meme coins and the $mefi token

These time frames should allow ample time for a new coin to pump to a point where you can easily withdraw and sell enough to cover the loan plus interest (see [interest-rates](https://meme-finance.gitbook.io/whitepaper/mefi-ecosystem/dapp/interest-rates "mention")) and have plenty of profit left over.&#x20;

We will consider adding new borrowing periods or expanding the current ones as the project grows and attracts more users.&#x20;
